A Moment Lost…In Queens

After drinking apple juice right before I went to sleep last night, I realize why kids wet the bed.

I slept at my Aunt’s uptown and on my way to work I made a little detour to 34th street in Queens. It only took me three long stops to realize I was going towards Queens and not downtown towards Times Square. I must say the sun in Queens made it very alluring to skip work and hang out at the 7-11.

To get on the downtown train, I had to pay another $2.25. I could have explained to the teller-man my situation, but didn’t feel like exerting that much energy. Waiting for the train, I snapped this photo. I call it “A Moment Lost…In Queens”

I had five minutes to get to work on time, but knew that would be physically impossible. Why worry? I asked myself. I didn’t have a good answer, so I instead listened in on other people’s conversations. Two ladies stood in the middle of the car by the door. They were angry at their “man” because they are jobless.
“The company tells him to take a week off,” she flicks her hand with long acrylic nails, “and he never goes back.” She emphasized the words “never”, “goes”, and “back”. Brandy’s friend was more passive and looked like she was on the verge of tears.
“My man goes to the bar, comes to my house to have a smoke, then goes back to the bar.” She took a sip of coffee. “Then he comes back to my house for a smoke, then back to the bar, then comes back to my house for a smoke.”
Brandy stepped back and forth getting obviously angry at what she was hearing. “Honey,” She gripped the pole tighter, “he just wants to be you’re hang out buddy.” She pursed her lips and nodded her head.
Because they talked so loudly, I felt they were performing for me. When she was done with her sentence, I started to clap. Monica looked at me with vengeance in her eyes. I spent the next 10 minutes of the ride with humming with my fingers in my ears.

My love for the Iphone is rapidly growing. Here are some pics I snapped this morning:
